The Three Essential House Cleaning Checklists
The Three Essential House Cleaning ChecklistsThe Three Essential House Cleaning Checklists By Loretta Grey If you have ever read a y of my articles on my website, you know that one of things that made a huge difference for me when it comes to cleaning is to have a good house cleaning checklist. Having that is synonym of organization, which what you need to make your cleaning efforts better and save more time. There are 2 types of checklist that I mainly use, and lately I started using a third one I am going to talk about later. I use 2 of them for products and activities. Each Sunday night I sit down and think which rooms I need to clean the next week. Lacking a defined schedule and plan is going to make you waste time. Every week it tends to be the same, however there are times when something unexpected during last week didn't allow me to clean a particular room or place, and I need to catch up. The second list is for the products. I check which ones are finished or are about to finish, and I write them down on a list so that I am able to buy them early on during the week and have them when it's time to clean. Very often I use homemade mixtures to clean. So I have a checklist of the products that I need for them and I plan when I am going to create those mixtures. I mainly use vinegar mixtures with water and other stuff. So I make sure I have it constantly in my closet. The last checklist is what I recommend you experiment as I am doing. I realized that, living with other 3 people, it makes sense that they collaborate to avoid dirt and clutter on the one hand, and on the other hand that they help out with the cleaning tasks. Of course this request wasn't welcomed very well. However, they understood my point and promised to help me out. So I made an additional list where I write with them the task that they can handle and when they are going to do it. Sometimes we just agree on a deadline instead of a specific day. Having things written down will avoid your kids from fighting and trying to deny the fact that it's their turn to do something, or that they agreed in the first place on doing that. I talk by personal experience so I recommend you do this. I also suggest that your regularly check your lists based on the results you get. You might notice that a task you assigned to a kid in particular is not well welcomed and accepted whereas another one could be just ok with that. It's very unlikely you will see them running around the house smiling and praising the job. In my opinion, however, it's a good educational thing having them to collaborate proactively, not only avoiding clutter and dirt from forming, but also helping you out when it's time to clean. Regarding your husband, if he's a very busy professional and comes home very late and tired, maybe it's not the best idea to make him clean. However, this can't be a justification for neglecting taking care for the place they live in and that you clean regularly. This is a delicate area and it's up to you how to approach him about this.
